Publisher's Description

Citizens across the country are fed up with the politicians in Washington telling us how to live our lives—and then sticking us with the bill. But what can we do? Actually, we can just say “no.” As New York Times bestselling author Thomas E. Woods, Jr., explains, “nullification” allows states to reject unconstitutional federal laws. For many tea partiers nationwide, nullification is rapidly becoming the only way to stop an over-reaching government drunk on power. From privacy to national healthcare, Woods shows how this growing and popular movement is sweeping across America and empowering states to take action against Obama’s socialist policies and big-government agenda.

This book should be read by every American. It clearly explains, in easy to understand language, the relationship between the states and the federal government. The bottom line is that state authority out-ranks federal authority. The states have the constitutional right and duty to judge constitutionality of every law, every Supreme Court and lower court decision, every Presidential mandate. The states are authorized by the constitution to disobey, and defund all violations of the constitution by the federal government. The entire debate among the founders was about what type of government we would have. Would it be a "nationalist" (top-down, autocratic, monarchy, oligarchy, or dictatorship) system, or would we have a "federal" system consisting of nation-states with a weak federal government (bottom-up authority)? Thomas Woods makes it clear that our founders decided that the federal government would NOT rule over us; but, to maintain that balance, the states would have to constantly monitor the federal government and discipline the power hungry federal beast, lest it become our master. The states are the only ones who can restore the balance of power that was originally established by the founders. Fedzilla must be put back in its cage by restraining its role to function within the boundaries of article 1, section 8. Only the state legislatures with support of the people in each state can this be done. It must be done with regularity as an on-going maintenance program. We have neglected that duty, so we now we have rulers instead of servants, which have literally changed our system of government into a system of tyranny. Article 5 is NOT the answer! Publius Hulda explains why, but that is the subject that can be found by doing a google search. But first, please read the Thomas Woods book!
