Lightweight and easily holdable in one hand, I find this bible ideal for reading in bed. The paper and the typeset are nice. I have come across a few sentences where the lettering gets a little scrunched like it went through the press quickly, but it is still clearly legible. Coming off reading from a larger reference bible, my first impression was that the leading (line spacing) is a little tight and the typeface a little small, but I quickly got use to it. I would recommend this edition to anyone who wants to read without distracting reference notes, particularly for the NRSV translation where there are fewer choices.
This is a beautiful Bible, with a leather cover, dedication page, gold leafed pages and a concordance. I bought this as a gift, and was proud to give it. However, when I tried to look up four key words in the concordance, they were not there. Otherwise, I like it.
The format is ideal for my needs. Not a bunch of commentary taking up the page. Just textual footnotes. Excellent concordance.
The cover feels cheap and it's real thin. It could pass for a paperback. I would also believe 'bonded leather.' But I'm having difficulty believing "genuine leather" - unless "genuine leather" means something different from what it sounds like it should mean.
