Unique Layout with Good Information

This study bible has the most unique layout I've seen yet. I thought the layout of notes in between the text would be distracting, but it does work well. You can lose your place at times jumping up and down from study notes to biblical text and this solves that. Basically if you read straight through you get a portion of scripture, then explanation, then scripture, then explanation. It is easy to figure out what's text and what are notes too which is a worry I did have. The content is pretty good and balanced. It's not as in-depth as other study bibles in the NRSV (for in-depth you'd want an Oxford Annotated, HarperCollins or New Interpreter's), however it does have a good amount of info, just enough to get some good insights. The helps in the back and the maps are great.
When it comes to the quality of the book itself, this paperback edition is a lot heavier than you'd expect. That to me says durability. It is a VERY durable Bible for a softcover. One problem is that the names of ISAIAH and REVELATION were accidentally printed by the inner spine/binding rather than the outside corners. This doesn't affect the reading of the Bible, but for a perfectionist (like me at times) it can be an annoyance. Other than that the Bible is a great edition with good content that I would recommend!
