Believing in God is important, but what about God believing in us? Believing that we can actually be the kind of people we were meant to be. People of love, compassion, peace, forgiveness and hope. People who try to do the right thing all of the time. Who act on the endless opportunities around us every day for good, beauty and truth. It's easy for us to sometimes get down on ourselves. To feel "not good enough" or feel like we don't have what it takes. But maybe if we had more insight into the culture that Jesus grew up in and some of the radical things that he did, we'd understand the faith that God has in all of us. Dust is the eighth DVD of the NOOMA ® series - short films appropriate for personal and small group settings, congregational meetings, and much more. Like parables, they use the experiences of our lives to teach about the fullness of life through Jesus, tackling issues like forgiveness, discipleship, and unconditional love. The study materials accompanying each NOOMA® encourage meaningful discussion with relevant questions and biblical references.
Zondervan originally included a discussion guide in all DVDs. Zondervan is transitioning the 32 page material into a PDF File that will not be included in the DVD itself. The Discussion guide will only be accessible from the DVD in PDF Format.
NOOMA is a new format for spiritual direction. It's short films touching on issues that we care about, that we want to talk about, and it comes in a way that fits our world. Nooma "No. 8, Dust" remains one of the most popular films in the series.
Using parallel storylines -- one a lesson by Rob Bell drawing from scriptures and one a visual story set in a winter scene -- viewers wind up with a striking convergence at the end of the short movie.
