NLT Study Bible, Hardcover 4.9 5 77 77

It has a Catholic article in the Bible I love the NLT translation and the Study Bible is pretty good until I found an article in the back of the Bible named "Introduction to the time after the Apostles". When you read it it says that you must believe in "tradition". In the section title "SCRIPTURE AND TRADITION" says "The baptismal formulas, CATECHISMS, doctrinal summaries, and later creeds were valued as accurately representing the intent of Scripture". Catechism of the Catholic Church (or CCC) is a catechism promulgated for the Catholic Church by Pope John Paul II. catÃÂ·eÃÂ·chism: 1. a. an elementary book containing a summary of the principles of the Christian religion, especially as maintained by a particular church, in the form of questions and answers. b. the contents of such a book. 2. a similar book of instruction in other subjects. In Mark 7:7-8 Jesus condemns tradition and that is what the Catholics believe in men made tradition not solely on Scripture alone. My question is why would the NLT Study Bible committee have a Catholic article praising their Catholic tradition is beyond me. May the Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on them for allowing falseness in the back of the Bible. May 12, 2013

Great Study Bible! Love all the stuff that is available in the NTL Study Bible. Use it from time to time for commentary since I mainly use the ESV Study Bible. I love the theme articles and person profiles. I also love how those or the commentary is Christ centered! March 18, 2013
