NLT Slimline Center Column Reference TuTone Leatherlike, Brown & Tan
A great bible. My favorite.
I have purchased several bibles from Christian Book Distributers. Each one has its own special features. However, this one is my favorite. I like the introductions to each book, the center column references, and the font is comfortable to read. Also, the personal size is just perfect. I highly recommend this bible.

Exceeded my expectations!
This bible is my favorite by far. I was hesitant when purchasing but pleasantly surprised when I started using it. It is small and easy to use, yet still manages to include all the important features. My favorite being the greek and hebrew dictionary to help gain an even better understanding of the text. I HIGHLY recommend this bible.

I first purchased this Bible about two years ago when it first came out. This is the only personal-sized NLT Bible with center column references and book introductions, both features I believe every Bible should have because it makes the Bible easier to understand and contextualize if you have book introductions that give readers the intended purpose of each book and its background information. The center column references are a great help if you're reading and come across a verse that has meaning to you and want to know the other verses that link it together.
Another great thing about this Bible is, Tyndale updated their bindings. When this Bible first came out about two or three years ago, Tyndale used glue bindings. Glue bindings are ok and will last many years, but the best binding option is known as "smyth-sewn," where they literally sew the pages into the cover. Unfortunately, in their haste, Tyndale overlooked this feature so it's not advertised on the box cover or in any of the marketing materials they send out to retailers. I recently learned of the updated bindings when I found an updated copy of this Bible at my local Christian bookstore. Libraries purchase books with this kind of binding because they last a lot longer. This is important if you highlight or write in your Bible, because you know as much as I do how time consuming it can be to transfer everything into a new Bible. You're not going to have to worry about that. This Bible is designed to last forever.
Lastly, I can't say enough about the NLT as a translation. IMO the NLT is going to be the next major translation embraced by the English-speaking Church on a worldwide basis. The reason I say this is simple: The NIV is becoming more outdated as time goes on in regards to how it renders some of the verses. Zondervan recognized this and came out with the TNIV (Today's NIV) but this translation was never accepted from the start and wasn't much of an update to begin with. More and more Christian's want a Bible translation that speaks to them the way Jesus would have if He came back today ... in their own language. They want a Bible translation that reads like one would speak. IMO, the NLT is the only translation on the market that fits that profile exact.
Bottom Line: For $20.00 you're going to get a Bible that speaks to you, has features (book introductions and center column references) not found in any other personal-sized NLT edition, and has sewn bindings that will last you a lifetime, normally only found in Bible's costing $100.00+.

The Bible is compact, but still has the references and a great concordance in the back. I am very pleased.
