I had bought this before in hardback, I didnt like it and gave it away. A house I clean has one of these on a bookshelf, I looked at it, and decided to try it again in this TuTone leather look. This is still a big, heavy Bible; too big and bulky to carry to church. That is its main flaw. As a study Bible, I like it. The print is easy to read, the notes, references, and the guides in the front of the Bible do what they promise, which is to lead you into a deeper understanding of God. The cover is soft, has a nice feel and is easier to use than the hardback version.
I have bought many study bibles over the years and I must say this study bible is a winner. This bible has everything you will ever need as a study bible all in one, for the vast amount of information put in one bible the price is unheard of!! You can not go wrong owning THIS study Bible. If you don't discover God with this bible, something is very wrong in your life. God bless all!
This is a very good presentation of the NLT version, attractively bound and highly readable. The study notes and "TopicGuide"/"TopicLink" index are quite helpful. However, I could have done without the "Attributes of God" notes. Aesthetically, they take up too much space on the page and offer very little information, making for a lot of wasted paper in an already long and heavy volume. Substantively, they introduce just a bit too much personal, almost pastoral, voice from the late Bill Bright. For many, this will no doubt be a feature, not a flaw, but for this reader it was intrusive and distracting. Nonetheless, this has lately become the edition of the NLT I turn to most regularly for reading and study.
