This Bible is decent if you're on a budget and want a Bible solely for reading (only the Bible text and footnotes). One of the pages of the copy I received had a pretty large space down the center (about midway down) where the text did not print very well. While the text was still readable, considering you have normal eyesight, I still traced over the poorly printed text with pen in order to read more easily, but the flaw was very unattractive, though, admittedly, I am weird about things like this.
The pages are pretty thin, but the leather is fairly decent cowhide leather. The binding is pretty typical, nothing special.
Each book begins with a short introduction, there is a 64-page concordance and 8 full-color maps in the back (4 pages). In the front of the Bible there are several pages for various pieces of information: a gift presentation page, a Church-family record, a marriage certification page, husband and wife family trees, children and grandchildren record pages, and a record of deaths page.
Overall, if you're looking for a reasonably priced leather Bible, this is not a bad choice at all.
I bought this to use and carry in my boarding bag for touring Israel later in the year. I needed a large print, but slimmed down portable Bible. It is very readable for me and works well with a Bible cover case. If this is what your looking for I believe this should work for you.
To start off with I'm critiquing this Bible for the quality of its construction. If you're looking for a nice looking Bible to give as a gift, I would pass this one up (unless you need to keep the price way down. For the price it's good. But you get what you pay for). The cover is functional. To me this is not the typical Leathersoft covered Bible. It's cheaper looking than other "Leathersoft" Bibles I own. I would describe it as having a thin rubber wrap over cardboard-like paper. The cover has no padding. It's very thin but feels soft. Its moderately flexible. If you bend the cover to hold the Bible in one hand, it will not flatten out completely after releasing your hold. It DOES have some flex to it though.
Now for the inside. The print is nice and dark but definitely not GIANT size. I would describe it as having large print. I would not recommend it for the visually impaired. The paper quality is good. It has a few nice colored maps in the back of the Bible. THERE ARE VERY FEW REFERENCES in this Bible so I wouldn't call it a reference Bible. I like the double-column line-by-line format. The introductions to each book are helpful but very limited in information. To me the introductions make the Bible look better.
