Bought this for my college-age son to take with him. Was a little disappointed in this Bible. I have always been very pleased with Thomas Nelson Bibles. And it's not that this is really all that bad, it is a really nice Bible. It just looked and felt more like a less expensive" gift and award" bible than anything. Just not the quality I was expecting. It is an inexpensive Bible, but a lot of the less expensive Bibles I have purchased from Thomas Nelson were always a good quality and nicer. But it has everything I was looking for in a Bible: larger font size, Jesus' words in red, beautiful gold page edges. Just not sure how well or how long it will hold up with daily use. But my son really liked it.
Not one to usually write reviews, but wanted to give my thumbs up on this Bible. Great quality for the price. Easy on the eyes thanks to the larger type size (though, not what most would consider "giant" print) and easy to read thanks to minimal references. Nice, handy size as well. Just what I've been looking for.
I am a diehard KJV reader-I was raised C.O.G.I.C. and all the 'read on' in church was STRICKLY from the King James Version of the Bible. I noticed in reading the New King James Version it read as close to the original with great clarification of some the words/terms. I also like whenever GOD/THE LORD/THE HOLY GHOST is referenced the pronoun "He" is capitalized. I also loved the Words of Jesus are in RED as well. I originally purchased this bible to take to church with me (I play organ/piano in a large Baptist church of which the NKJV is also displayed on the screen from time-to-time). However, I was SO impressed with this beautiful burgandy (my favorite color) bible I refused to take it out of the house! :) I have it in my nightstand drawer to read after I read my 20 year old well-used/marked KJV.
