I purchased nearly thirty Jesus Calling bibles over the last six months. Many of the bibles surprised me with exquisite quality at a great price. The bonded leather edition was one of the few versions acquired that disappointed me. The binding has a plastic like feel to it. I would suggest a buyer should consider the imitatuon or geniune/cowhide leather with red ribbon.
To be able to get a genuine leather Bible under $45 is amazing value. The only thing to keep in mind is that there are no extras (ie. cross reference, concordance, maps, book introductions, etc). The devotions in the Bible are based on a topic and then split into two perspectives: first is a prayer from the human perspective, and the second is a response "prayer" from God's perspective. There are actually quite a few, so if you are looking for primarily the words of scripture you may want to reconsider. Then again it's a genuine leather Bible for an unbeatable price.
I really love this Bible. The devotionals are great and I love the way that they are organized throughout this Bible. I also have Jesus Calling so I use them together so that I don't have to go throughout the Bible looking for the scripture for each devotional when I do my Bible study. I always find comfort using this Bible.
