my very first Bible when I was 13 years old, was a Nelson Revised Standard Version of the Bible. I still have it and treasure it to this day fully 40 years later. it is still in good shape. the Bible that I'm reviewing is also a Nelson product, and a very good translation which almost echoes in a way the Revised Standard Version, which has all of the Elizabethan English pronouns . the New King James Version is a literal translation which I prefer over the KJV. The bondedl leather binding is very good both in appearance as well as quality and resilience. the notes of this Bible are very easy to read and very helpful for just about any type of Bible study that you may need be it devotional for educational or informational or whatever you may need, this Bible will fit the bill. I got the tabs for it and that surrounds it out completely. print is relatively large and easy to read as the notes in the Bible and explain the text you not seem to be biased whatsoever but rather very objective to the point and very helpful. the quality of the paper is good the binding appears to be strong it looks like glued binding however it is very very strong that I see this Bible last thing as long as my first Bible given that I keep it in a Bible case. I also have my name embossed in gold. A good investment in your spiritual health

I bought this for my daughter and as i was putting her tabs on, I had to ask the Lord for forgiveness....I was coveting it!

I love the commentary, where Christ is in the scriptures, the date time line as well as the book outline, the harmony of the gospels and so much more. I will need to but another one for me!

Very familiar with this Study Bible, and purchased these as gifts for our teens. They were all thrilled to get their own study Bible.

I find the notes to be simply terrific! OK, that's a super SUBJECTIVE comment, but that's what these reviews are really about...since most of us reviewers are amateurs. I use this NKJV Study Bible along with two other bibles: one is the Catholic Prayer Bible and the other is the New Oxford Annotated RSV with the Apochrypha. The three actually complement each other, but, of the two STUDY bibles, I find the NKJV notes more enlightening from a spiritual perspective than the Oxford RSV, That is not to diminish the value of the Oxford RSV the purpose of which is more "scholarly". I am a Roman Catholic and when I saw how many of the contributors to the NKJV Study Bible were Baptist scholars, I thought that I might be in for a bit of theological arm twisting. That turned out to be far from true. The notes are clear, NON POLEMICAL, true to the meaning of the text and, above all, thought provoking. Believe it or not we Catholics really do believe that the bible is the Word of God. In regard to some of the objections that this is not a red-letter version, I would suggest those folks ASK IF A BIBLE IS RED-LETTER BEFORE THEY BUY IT.
