This is not a Bible you would typically carry to and from church or other places. The study notes, and quality of this Bible are incredible, but I returned it based entirely upon its size.
If you plan to use this as a family Bible, or a "stays in your study" kind of Bible, then it'd be great. If this is going to be your everyday Bible, I'd look for one without large print, or a large print without study notes.
This is one big Bible in every way. It is heavy and like almost carrying a city phone book but no complaints, as it is filled with information, charts, maps, pictures and notes. It is like carrying a Bible and Bible Dictionary all in one volume. Suggestions: Darker print (my peeve with NIV Bibles) and a longer Concordance. The NIV has kept the Masoretic Text for the OT which I prefer. But I still wish they kept the Received Text in the New Testament at least as a standard along with the text they used. Recommended with aforementioned suggestions and a KJV or equivalent handy.
