My 9 year old granddaughter was going to Youth Camp for the first time. She told me that she didn't have a Bible so I went on Christianbook.com and decided on this one. I had her name engraved on it. She loved it! The colors and design of the cover are appealing to younger girls. I believe it is a good study Bible to help her grow in God's word and to apply His word in her life.
This is a perfect Bible for girls who are beyond childrens Bibles, but arent quite ready for a teen or heavy-duty study Bible. Id say this one would be great for ages 8-12. There are a ton of features in the layout of this NIV Bible, but one of the best aspects is that the features arent every 30 pages. The Young Women of Faith Bible has something fun on almost every page. This keeps things interesting and keeps the readers attention, especially through passages that may be difficult or dry.
My only criticism of this Bible is that Im not sure the cover and binding will wear well over time. However, using a Bible cover/case would solve this problem. Or you can purchase this beautiful leather-bound version: [...]
I would definitely recommend this well-organized, fun and attractive presentation of the Bible to preteen girls, who are ready to study beyond the simplified Bible stories they have learned in Sunday School. The Young Women of Faith Bible will help them dig deeper and encourage personal growth in their personal relationship with God.

I recently received a copy of the New International Version's Young Women of Faith Bible. As I looked through the pages I realized that this Bible would make a wonderful gift for a younger girl. Within the cute and colorful cover of this Bible are wonderful notes to help explain and apply the Scriptures to young girls. As you flip through the pages you see lots of the color pink. And wherever you see pink there will be some sort of study aid for those who are reading.
Here are some examples of the type of notes that you will find within the pages of this Bible:
* "If I Were there_" These attempt to help put you in the shoes of those involved in the Bible story. They help you to relate to and understand the situation that they are in.
* "I Believe" These are simple, short statements found on various pages. They clearly state key beliefs and truths that are found within the scriptures, such as "Jesus is alive."
* Memory Verses Throughout the scriptures, this Bible frequently points out verses that it suggests for memorization. This can be a wonderful tool for young girls!
There are also lists of facts and answers to questions before each book of the Bible, as well as weekly devotions and journaling sections throughout the pages.
Overall, I would say this this Bible for young ladies is both cute and practical. It has girly, feminine pages, but those pages hold notes that help the readers to understand and apply God's word to their own lives.
I received this book free from the publisher in exchange for my honest review. However, my opinions are my own.

This Young Women of Faith Bible NIV, by Susie Shellenberger, is a hardback study bible with a catchy, colorful cover that isn't too babyish or grown up. The NIV translation is easy to read and understand as it It draws your young lady into God's word. The design on the cover is carried thru out the bible with the pink accents thru out . Aimed at the tween audience I feel that it is very appropriate for girls between 8 and 13. It is the bible that is "just like yours!".
This bible features 52 full page bible studies that is linked to the NIV Women of Faith Study Bible so you can study God's word TOGETHER! Some of the other great things that sets this bible apart from others are: Bookmark side notes, Journal space, "I believe statements" and "If I were there" stories.
*The bible side notes offer explanations or historical side notes to the scripture passage that you are reading. A great tool for understand some of the bible stories.
*The journal boxes leaves space for you to take notes as you read, jot down prayer reminders or noting something interesting from the passages on the page. I do wish there was a bit more space for the journal writing. The boxes do have details in them that takes away from the journal writing. These are often great points for reflection, however they limit the writing space. This is just my opinion and could very easily be corrected with a bible journal notebook to go along.
*Your "I believe statements" are statements of faith and foundation beliefs. *Your "If I were there"s give you stories that apply what was going on in real time. For example, when they were talking about no one listening in Judges 17:6 the "If I were there" highlights how maybe the girls in your class are not listening and may be using language that isn't appropriate. What do you think you should do and what does God want you to do in this situation. This provides reflection time on our thoughts and actions, putting into perspective what we may face in our world.
Each bible has a presentation page with a place for you to put your child's name, date and who the bible is from. The second page highlights your child's Christian journey with the day they became a Christian, the influential people on their Christian journey, special bible verses that helped. This could be given as a baptism, First Communion or even a milestone birthday!
Each book then opens with a page about that particular book. It lists the author, when and why it was written, what we learned about God within this book, what is special about this book, and finally what some of the stories are in the book.
This bible is laid out to encourage the reader to want to start reading and studying God's word. I think that it does a great job! I also think that linking it with the Women of Faith Study Bible and allowing you to study this with your child is a really great idea! You don't have to study it with your child, however it give you the opportunity to if you would like. It gives both of you some special time together studying God's word and walking together on your spiritual journeys.
I was provided this book free in exchange for my honest opinion. My opinion does not guarantee a positive review. No other compensation was received.
