This Bible is unique in the sense that it is the first time I really understand the big picture of what I am reading. I am reading it more slowly than the indication for daily readings and the introductions for every passage help me understand what is really going on. I have read all of Genesis so far and understand who is who's father and who did what. I can now relate all the stories together.
My husband was impressed at how well I was able to talk about the different stories and people of the passages I had read so he also started reading this Bible. He loves this Bible also.
I definetly recomend it!

You can't ask for a better cronological Bible. The commentaries alone are worth the money. I read it every other year.

I discovered this Bible several years ago and use it each year to read through the Bible. The story never gets old and each time I use it there are "aha" moments. Being in chronological order helps one experience the big picture of God's redeeming love for Israel and with Israel's failures to honor Him, providing the culmination of God's plan to send His Son to the world. My original purchase several years ago was a paperback edition but with continued use decided to purchase the hardback. I have introduced the Bible to my church and well over 100 members have purchased this Bible with the intent of reading through the Bible in a year. I can hardly wait to see how the Holy Spirit works in our congregation with so many members reading the Bible daily.

For the last several years, we have offered an adult Bible study class that uses this book to read through the Bible in a year. The class leader surveys the weekly reading portion and allows class response time. This format has helped many read thru the Bible that have never done so before. The class format offers support and encouragement for those reading the Bible thru for the first time and helps them complete their goal of reading the Bible completely through. Doing so chronologically helps them gain a proper perspective of the timeline of the Scriptures.
