First, I received my copy as an e-book or as an e-Bible, I should say, so I found the footnotes and the table of contents really helpful since they are represented as links. Both provide instant access to the content I want and points me toward the additional study resources inside the Bible.
Next, as previously mentioned, this Bible is organized into 365 daily readings that includes a portion of Scripture reading from the Old Testament, New Testament, a selection from Psalms or Proverbs and a short devotional. This arrangement takes the boring out of Bible reading and helps me read all through the Bible in one year. And because the readings are numbered, I dont have to wait for another new year to read it, I can start anytime.
I highly recommend this to those who are always on the go or travels a lot. Now, this makes Bible reading, quiet time or devotional reading easier and with the purpose of reading the Bible in one year.

And start the year right by several doses of Gods Word.
Second Book to the RightMedford, MAAge: 35-44Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5DisappointingDecember 5, 2014Second Book to the RightMedford, MAAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 2Value: 2Meets Expectations: 2I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I have other bibles in this series, specifically NIV Once a Day for Women and NIV Once a Day Chronological. I wont be reviewing much on the NIV portion of the Bible, as if you have one NIV, the other NIVs are worded exactly the same. The daily readings are broken down into one Old Testament, one New Testament, and one from Psalms or Proverbs. That is then followed by a reflection on one of the readings that is expected to help the reader (assumed to be a leader of some sort in his or her life).
I am a lower level leader at work, so I was truly looking forward to the reflections, hoping that I could find something to help me in my every day leadership qualities, pulling Biblically. I was expecting concrete reflections that I could use to become a better, more effective leader.
Instead, I found ambiguous, fluffy reflections on the readings that are definitely about leadership, but nothing that I could take away and use in my day to day leadership role. Ultimately I was very disappointed in this Bible for I did not feel it accomplished its goal of helping leaders with insights that would make them into better leaders, whether it is in their career, church, or in their community.
incitefaithGeorgiaAge: 25-34Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5NIV Once a Day Bible [For Leaders] ReviewNovember 1, 2014incitefaithGeorgiaAge: 25-34Gender: femaleThe NIV Once a Day Bible [For Leaders] is the best Bible for readers who prefer a more disciplined and structured approach to reading scripture. One thing I liked about this Bible is how it pairs the Old and New Testament together along with Psalms and Proverbs. The NIV translation has always been my favorite translation of the Bible (Sorry NIV haters) so reading this Bible is perfect.
My favorite part about this Bible is the Reflection section before each day ends. The reflection section has quotes from well known Christian leaders and writers so the scripture really connected after reading their insights.
The NIV Once a Day Bible [For Leaders] is good for those of us who live busy lives but still want to make scripture apart of their daily routine. I know the advantage of making Scripture a part of my daily life. Without it, Im spiritually dead. No fruit can be produced if we dont read scripture and apply it to our lives everyday.
Recently, I started reading through the Psalms each day so this is a good addition to that and since Ive never read through the entire Bible, this Bible is a good fit.
I would recommend this Bible for any one, whether leader or new believer.

KaraAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5The NIV Once-A-Day Bible for LeadersSeptember 23, 2014KaraAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4The NIV Once-A-Day Bible for Leaders, published by Zondervan is a remarkable tool for any Bible scholar, especially those in or considering leadership roles. Its goal is to help readers practice the spiritual discipline of daily Bible reading with a special focus on leadership.
This Bible includes a table of weights and measures, a canonical index, and a yearly reading plan. Each reading is numbered, not dated, including a reading from the Old Testament, a reading from the New Testament, a reading from Psalms or Proverbs, and a reflection from a past or present leader. Some of those leaders featured include Bill Hybels, Wayne Cordeiro, Charles Stanley, Max Lucado, Chris Tomlinson, and J. Oswald Sanders.
I found this Bible very helpful for not only leaders, but anyone attempting to read the Bible in one year. Its arrangement makes it easy to use without the need to flip from one section to another or keep track of a checklist of readings. The reflections were thought provoking and helpful. I would have liked to see the words of Jesus in red letter and the print larger; but overall, I was impressed with this Bible and would recommend it to others.
I received this book free from the publisher and was not required to write a positive review.
