I like the quality of the genuine cowhide leather cover! I have not been able to find Bibles bound as well and in as nice of leather covers compared to what I bought many years ago. But this edition comes as close as any. It is a study Bible, so it is larger and heavier than a plain text Bible would be, of course. But one of the purposes of buying a study Bible in the first place is to get the benefit of the helps to Bible study and Bible understanding such a Bible provides.
I had been using a family bible for bible study classes. Didn't want to write or highlight the pages so I had to take notebooks with me so I could take many notes as I have only been doing bible study for a couple years. Also during the classes others seemed to have a better understanding than I did (because they had the additional information not provided in the family bible). I do feel better about highlighting and making notes in this Bible than my other one and love having the extra insight the notes provide. The only problem I have with this book is that it weighs a "ton." Not really that much but it is very heavy to carry around.
