Our purchase of this particular Study Bible allowed us to accomplish two separate goals at the same time. While we're aware that some may consider the Archaeological resources available in the Bible the major attraction of the Bible, we feel that the background information on each Book of the Bible along with the other sources of information relevant to both God's Word and Christian growth are of equal value. On top of all of this, the choice of the ever-reliable 1984 NIV version is icing on the cake. Thank you christianbook.com for making this Study Bible available at a very affordable price.
This review is for the Renaissance Fine Leather edition of the Archaeological Study Bible.
Cover: The cover looks exactly as pictured, and is probably the nicest bible cover I have ever seen or felt. I have several premium leather bibles, and this is by far my favorite. It is very soft, flexible, and high quality. It also has a rustic leather look that goes well with the content of this study Bible.
Content: The paper is very high quality, and all the pages are full color with a rustic effect on all the page edges. There are thousands of notes, and hundreds of articles that tell you pretty much everything you want to know about the history and culture of the people and places in the Bible.
Overall, this Bible is excellent, and I could not recommend it more highly for someone interested in history and the Bible. Compared to other fine leather study Bibles, the price cannot be beat.
