This NIRV Bible far exceeds my expectations!

I serve adults with disabilities who often have limited reading skills. Often, they could only read a children's bible with silly pictures on it. This bible looks and feels like any other adult bible.

The NIRV translation makes the bible easier to read but has the full meat of the meaning. Although I can understand theologically challenging versions, the NIRV has become a real treasure to me. I use quotes from it for notes of encouragement on Facebook! Even unbelievers are touched by the simplicity.

The NIRV is also perfect for readers who are deaf or have English as a second language. I bought a case of paperback NIRV to give to the deaf members of our church. One lady held the NIRV to her chest, hugging it like a doll, and signed, "I never had a bible I could understand. I love it!"

    Blessings!

I thought this would be an NiRv Bible with the larger typeset and a bit more spacing so that it's easier to read for ESl.

The print is tiny. I'm used to the NIrV being a larger print. I got it for my exchange student to use when she comes to church with us. It is PERFECT for this purpose. She doesn't have a Christian background and her vocabulary in this area is very limited. I was looking for a Bible in her language, but they are very costly. If she decides to become a Christian, we will definitely make that investment. Meanwhile, this allows her to participate with the youth group Bible Studies and follow along with the pastor in church. As long as the recipient has good near vision, this is an excellent Bible for an English learner.
