As a parent, I am always on the look out for children's books that are not only educational but entertaining as well. Night, night blessings is a cheerful, simple, lovable volume, that takes you on a child's usual day, from breakfast with pancakes, to playing with pets, to good night kisses. And each moment is something to be thankful for. The book not only makes us realize how precious time is to our children, but also teaches them to be grateful for even the simplest things.

My daughter is a bundle of energy, and getting her to sleep is sometimes a struggle. Reading her this book at night serves to round up her day's adventure. And makes both mom and daughter happy and thankful for night, night blessings.

A lovely children's book with great content for young children and beautiful illustrations that remind us to take the time to say "Thank You" to the Lord, daily for the blessings that we think of and those that we don't.

A short book aimed at very young children but great for mom's and dad's to remind themselves to be thankful for each small and big blessing given each day. My four year old and and 6 year old both enjoyed the reading and stopping to think about the things that many of us take for granted each day - "from early morning to night night" the book describes the various activities in the child's day and all the things to be thankful for.

I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com <http://BookSneeze®.com> book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review. I received an ebook copy of this complimentary from book sneeze. This is an appropriate book for children under 5. My 7 year old was a little bored with it. My almost 5 year old thought it was so/so. I thought the book was charming and look forward to reading it with my baby when he is a little older.

The illustrations are sweet and easy for a young child to look at. The book takes you through the many ways God blesses us on a day to day basis. It is never to early to show a child the blessing in his life and this book does that. I love that as a parent we can use this to teach our children to take nothing for granted.

I had the same concerns with "Night Night Blessings" as I've had with other e-children's books. Picture books just don't convert to eBooks very well. In this case, the text that went with the pictures didn't even land on the same page. I can't imagine how confusing that would be for a child. It's crucial that the words and pictures go together.

That thought aside, the illustrations in "Night Night Blessings" are adorable. I especially liked the little critters scattered randomly throughout. As for the story, it's a bedtime poem-prayer. The child in the pictures is thanking God for every part of a routine day from pancakes for breakfast, to time with friends and family, to bathtub fun, to God's love, presence, and care.

The rhyme itself didn't come naturally. I often had to think about it and work it out. This would be a challenge for parents trying to read the story aloud to active toddlers. Parents might want to practice it first. I also wasn't sure about the child's age. One moment she's playing leap frog and kick ball with friends like an elementary age child would do. The next she's building with blocks like a preschooler.

If I were going to invest $10 in a book for my child's library, I would probably choose a different one. Children may love the pictures, but parents will get their tongues tied trying to read the words in rhythm.
