Movie was pretty good. Watched the movie before showing my niece and I am glad I did. I was left feeling so bad for Anne. I knew her character's past was sad and hard. Watching it unfold was just that, sad and hard. I am glad I watched it as I am a huge Anne fan. The ending wrapped it up well and not all depressing but again, I walked away from the movie sad more than anything. Definitely not the same as the original movie feel. I would tell a friend to watch this so they can get the last part of her story but I wont recommend it for the littler crowd.
I didn't have a problem with the original beginning of Anne of Green Gables. The story lacked the sparkle of the original Anne stories. I didn't like thinking that the original Anne's story was a lie. Acting was okay. The story was not endearing, as the original stories were. Story line was cumbersome & confusing. Bought this for my grandchildren, but am not going to show them.
A New Beginning: Anne of Green Gables - Return to Alice's Wonderland
January 4, 2015
This movie is anything but linear. It winds, turns, looks back, and is confusing to anyone who is not fully absorbed in the full story - multiple stories. It had been awhile a while since my family members had watched it and they wished the had notes from the first move. I never saw the first movie and there weren't any clues about which events linked back - leaving me feeling like I was reading Alice In Wonderland or something.
