The NET Bible is the first Bible in history with extensive Translators' Notes; NET Bible considered what kind of edition would be appropriate for those who want to use and perhaps keep it as an important collector's edition for their library. Thus it is only available in deluxe leather bindings, but at a price which allows pastors, teachers, and students to afford a Bible which won't fall apart with extensive use. It is thin and beautiful, with a page size of 6x9", only 1.7" thick, smyth-sewn binding, gilded page edges, black marker ribbon and soft black saddle leather cover. Those who have only used the NET Bible online will be amazed at how much of each of the 2560 pages consist of the extensive Translators' Notes. Included in the box is a reference bookmark.
Designed for long life, these First Edition NET Bibles were bound with Premium Cromwell Bonded Leather on the observation that conventional leather dries and cracks in 35 to 150 years, while the modern Bonded Leather composition combines leather and advanced polimers in a way which should extend the working life of the NET Bible far beyond that observed by collectors of first edition Geneva and King James editions, whose spines cracked and fell apart centuries ago. The goal was to make the first Printed NET Bibles last a very long time.
This beautiful Bible is in the more traditional Black leather. The rich Arista Black Bonded Leather (smooth finished like dress gloves or a leather couch) complements the gilded page edges, plus a black colored ribbon and black and gold silk headbands make a stunning combination. Smyth-sewn binding will insure this Bible lasts for many years of study.

This bible is not well known but excellent, quite interesting and full of detailed notes at every page of translation and so forth. Translation is fresh and gives new light.

Many would assume that this edition is meant especially for those in ministry or those who know the original languages but this isn't the case. The translators' notes of the first Edition are meant to help people get a better idea of what the original languages said and of the translation process that went into the NET Bible. Personally I love the extensive translators' notes of this edition, they are very useful and interesting. Even though I can't read Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek I still find the notes fascinating and comprehensible, although I'm sure someone with knowledge of the the original languages would find this edition even more helpful. Many times I find myself using this Bible along side other study Bibles to get a better idea of what the original languages said. This edition lays flat while reading, which is very helpful when studying or while comparing translations. The Net Bible First Edition is a good choice for study because of the extensive translators' notes and the wonderful maps.

The NET Bible is of the best quality and truly in a class of its own. The translator notes gives you a "behind the scenes" view. As far as I can see the comments and notes are fair and honest. The Bible that I purchased included the CD. The CD accents the Bible in many different ways. So, it is best purchased together if you are able. Everyone as christains needs this Bible and or CD to know the: what, when, how, why, where, and becauses of the Bible.
With cults, unchurched, and even churched, people need to know the reasons for our faith and the honesty of translations from the manuscripts. I found this Bible through the neXt(no typo) Bible online. These resources together will give you a full plate and true understanding in Gods Word.

I love the bible... HOWEVER the bible (which I paid extra for fast delivery) has spinal cracks along the inside of the first few pages. now if I send it back, I don't want to do, because I will loose the time I paid for fast delivery. Who knows how long it will be before I will get it back!! So my advice is if the people making the bible wants to charge $50 for it it should be inspected for things like that. THIS IS NOT THE SELLERS ISSUE. it is a manufacturer's issue! So I would give this bible a 5 STAR rating except for the issue of the defects!

I have been waiting a long time to find the right study bible for me. I like the NET Translation. I have been going to the NET Website and I fell in love with the translation. I also bought this bible for the translators' notes, which are extensive. I love it, and I like the size of this bible. Others have said that it is too large to carry to a bible study, I don't agree. It is just perfect.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a better Bible for this amount of money. It is very well made period. For me the notes, maps, references and tools, push it to the top of the over sixty Bibles I own. Buy it, you will not regret it.

This Bible was on my wish list for quite awhile. I put off buying it because there was no discount. I kept waiting for a price reduction. What I can tell you is the price reduction is built in.
This Bible is huge and top quality in every way. Easily worth double the retail price. And the CD that comes with it is frosting on the cake. This Bible immediately became my favorite and I own 50 or more Bibles. I love it!
