Publisher's Description

Need a time-out from your kids and a moment or two with God? Filled with mirth and encouragement, this inspirational devotional leads you through the names of God as you march through the trenches of motherhood. These short devotions and life stories, told in Heather's "been-there-done-that" voice will help you laugh at life's most embarrassing moments, remember that God is with you in the midst of your worst moments, and help you put things back into some sort of perspective. Doesn't every mom, the sleep-deprived, squabbling-refereeing, hormone-wacked, women that we are, need a time-out now and then? This book might be the next best thing. Step off the mommy treadmill for some encouragement and spiritual refreshment. Heather Riggleman lives in Nebraska with her three children and husband. When she isn't writing about her latest mothering experience, you can find her speaking to mom's groups all across her grand state of Nebraska. She also has something new to offer her readers. With a few of her friends, Heather is launching a new online talk show geared for women: www.herviewfromhome.com. "Feeling worn out, unseen, unappreciated, overwhelmed? Heather Riggleman writes with understanding, a touch of humor, and a lot of grace. Her words lifted my eyes to the Father God who sees and loves me, and lifted my heart with our common connection as moms. I highly recommend this book " Tricia Goyer, author of 32 books, including Blue Like Play Dough: The Shape of Motherhood in the Grip of God

Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  I'm an over caffeinated mom of three kids who shares life transparently. As a Nebraska favorite encouragar, I can be found inspiring moms to laugh at their mommy mayhem moments and find God in the midst of motherhood.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I wrote Mama Needs A Time Out because we often forget that our souls need nurturing just as much as our kids do. Plus how many other moms are transparent with what they are struggling with in the domestics daily duties of motherhood? I share transparently so you as a mom don't feel alone and to show you how to find God in the trenches of motherhood.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope each mom walks away from each chapter discovering something new about the names of God and they feel connected, understood, inspired, and encouraged.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  I started this project fully intending to learn more about God's character through the various names in the Bible. What I discovered is how real and tangible he is. He wants moms to know he is there and cares about all that we do every single day.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  The Bible, Julie Barnhill, Joyce Myers and Beth Moore.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  Heather Riggleman loves to share her passion and story of motherhood with other moms. She has received several awards and has been published in MOPS International online, and Proverbs 31 Magazine and is the faith and co-founder of Her View From Home. When she isn’t writing about her latest mothering experience, you can find her speaking to mom’s groups all across her grand state of Nebraska. You can connect with her at heatherriggleman.com, she would love to hear from you. Heather Riggleman lives in Nebraska with her three children and husband. When she isn’t putting her kids in time-outs, she is speaking to women’s groups, including MOPS across her home state. With her passion for encouraging moms, she is hard at work on a new book and hopes you’ll stop by and visit her.
