    Tell us a little about yourself.  I am a wife, the mother of two grown daughters, a mother in law to 2 awesome men, and grandmother to 3 girls and 2 boys. When I was younger,I was a singer and thought maybe someday I'd do something with my music background. After having babies, I just couldn't leave them and pursue a career outside our home. I wasn't a perfect mother, but I learned where to go to be transformed. I was a cycle-breaking mother, having grown up in a home where, in my younger years, going to church and Bible reading were not part of our home life. I had a Christian grandmother who prayed for me and my sisters and taught me hymns everytime I went to visit her. When I was 8 a neighborhood girl took me to church. She and her loving family showed me what a personal relationship with Jesus looked like. I began a faith journey, went to their church, learned Scripture, and sang hymns. Within 2 years everyone in my entire family became Christ followers. That is one reason why I'm so passionate about sharing Jesus with everyone, young or old. Now that I'm a grandmother, I have a passion to teach younger women to love their husbands and raise godly children. Moms need a smile, an encouraging word from an older lady who says, "You're going to make it. God is good. You're a good mommy."

    What was your motivation behind this project?  There is nothing more exciting than praying for younger moms and encouraging them on their faith journey. I pray for a group of young moms at my church and lead a Bible study with them. My husband was the one who encouraged me to share with younger moms what I've learned about following Jesus and raising children and praying for our families. My daughters have been an incredible inspiration to me as I watch them mother their children, love their husbands, and follow Christ with faith and hope. My husband had written the notes in the Dad's Bible and when Thomas Nelson decided to do a Mom's Bible, they asked me to write the notes for it. I was shocked and felt completely inadequate. There's nothing to boast about, except Jesus. It's a miracle I was chosen. When I saw the finished Bible for the first time, I stood in the kitchen and wept. It's just nothing I would ever have dreamed I'd do. Ephesians 3:20 is certainly illustrated here by Nelson choosing me. I'm a musician, an artist, an ordinary neighbor, a normal mom and grandmother who goes to church every week and takes notes from the sermons. So, I guess you could say I wasn't seeking the project, but it graciously came my way.

    What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  There is nothing we could want more than for moms to have a personal relationship with Jeus. Then to begin to read and understand the incredible encouragement, instruction, hope, and wisdom the Bible offers to them everyday. That they would be warned about the temptations of the culture and believe that God's plan for their families is beautiful, intricate, sanctified, and do-able. Sometimes young moms think they have to be perfect to follow Jesus and raise godly children. That's not true. If we mess up and yell at the kids or struggle with fear, lack of faith, a cutting tongue, or are overwhelmed with our tasks somedays, God has mercy and a transformation waiting for us in His Word. I was there. I failed many times. Our children don't need perfect moms, they need a mom who knows where to go to be transformed. That's how they learn where they can go...to God's Word...when they mess up. That's the message of the Bible. Grace. Amazing grace. That's what I'm singing right now in my mind. God's grace saves wretched moms like me and lifts us out of the pit so we may walk in newness of life. That's what I hope every mom will experience. Personal, dynamic, faith-filled days of walking with Jesus.

    How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  There's no way to spend hours and hours reading and digging in Scripture and not have it change everything about you. I was struggling with mid life issues when I began this project, wondering what God could do with an older woman like me who is getting weaker day by day in body. Oh, did Jesus ever have a surprise for me. Weak is good. Empty is good. He just showed me again that it's all about Him and not about me. Having my daughter, Missy, work with me, and also my counselor friend, Regina, made this a partnership project where we lifted each other up on down days. We all experienced down days, heartaches, health issues, seemingly unsurmountable problems, and fear. Moment by moment with the prayers of our friends and family, we looked to Jesus, hung onto His Word, and sang hymns. The hymn that took me through was "Trust and Obey". There were nights when I was awake when the verses of hymns wafted over me and bolstered my weak faith. I knew I could not do any of this project on my own, even with the incredible helpers God sent me. I begged for mercy and often, said aloud, "Cover me Jesus!" so I would not drown in fear, pity or freeze up and be no good to anyone. There's a fine line between faith and fear...they co-existed for me the entire time we worked on this project.

    Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  My mother in law, Grace Dourte Wolgemuth, now age 93, is my beautiful mentor, role model and prayer warrior. She is failing now in her health, but she has prayed and encouraged me for this project and for my whole life as a mother. She was the first one I called when I found out I was pregnant with our first baby. She is the one I called for advice over the years. She is the one whose faith is the pattern for what I want. She was a faithful and loving "suitable helper" to Papa, until death parted them. She showed me what a godly women, wife and mother looks like. She loves God's Word and memorized it. Her kids all memorized huge portions of Scripture when they were small. She has taught most of her great grandchildren A to Z Bible verses. When our daughter Julie was 18 months old (I'm serious!) she memorized A to Z verses with Mom Wolgemuth in 5 days while we were on a trip and Mom was babysitting. I didn't know a toddler had the capacity to say that many words. Mom Grace built God's Word into our children just like she had planted it in her own 6 children when they were small. I did not grow up with a picture of that in my home. About books, I have a pile of books, mostly by theologians like John MacArthur, R.C. Sproul, and Ravi Zacharias. I love the MacArthur study Bible for my personal in depth study. Right now I'm reading a 2 volume biography about George Whitfield that is inspiring me to be even more passionate about sharing the Gospel everywhere I can.

    Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I just want everyone to know and understand the love of God, the privilege of hearing His voice through the pages of their Bibles, and the joy of sharing the Gospel in any form. And I envision the beauty and grace of the Lord poured out on moms who, in turn, raise a new generation of Christ following disciples.
