Product Description

You can visit China at any time of the year, but a trip in spring or autumn is recommended. The country is becoming easier to get around, but you won't encounter much spoken English beyond the tourist sights. China is an unusal blend of the modern and old, so while you can stay in five-star hotels in Beijing and Shanghai, off the beaten path you may find yourself living in very basic conditions.

National Geographic Traveler guides bring you a wealth of information that will help you plot your course so you can have an exciting and authentic experience. In China you'll find insider tips, off-the-beaten-path excursions, unique experiences for you to consider, walking tours, recommended sites and activities, and gorgeous color photographs, illustrations, and maps.
