I had already started a reading plan and simply switched to using this Bible when I received it. I am seeing God's work all through First and Second Kings. I had read these before, though not thoroughly, and I see now how God loves his people through this time of turmoil. There are many maps and charts that help me visualize what is going on. Every chapter has an At-A-Glance chart for me to fill in my own summary for each chapter, and see how the various chapters group together. I use a magnifier to read the cross references more easily, but the main text is clear, so don't let the "ten-point" designation stop you.

I like the instructions for study being customized for each book, and that I can select my own squiggles and marks. I do make the suggested quick reference index card for each book so I can easily look through marks for all books later on.

I really like this method, especially as presented in this Bible. It is all in one book, no need for a separate study guide. You read it, you mark it, you see God for yourself. And sometimes I hear the soft whisper..."Now where else did you see that?"

There is plenty of room in the margins for my notes. I have lots of yellow triangles and pink text--my code for insight about God. The chart about the various kings is already pre-filled with calendar date ranges and the names of the kings, this makes it easier to see where I am going. They leave it to you to track who was a King of Israel and who was a King of Judah. Remember, you have colors! :-)

I am am able to write with a light hand and I'm having excellent results with the "005" Micron pens, which make a .20 mm line. This does not even approach "soaking through" the page. I am using "05" (.45 mm) for the yellow pen, so I can see it easily. I'm also using the dry hi-liters and having good results with them. (Though they were soft on delivery, they did not melt in the heat here in the desert! I just let them cool off overnight before starting to use them.) An old box from my bank-checks (spray painted pink) works well to hold the pens and hi-liters, even with some index cards in there too. I use a couple of small sticky-notes to mark the instructions and the At-a-Glance chart for the current book, then move them to the next book when I am ready for that.

I had one for many years(the larger size and still do, since it has my precept notes in it) and finally broke down and got the smaller one and use it now for Precept studying. I also have the ESV which is nice but prefer the NASB version. I would highly recommend this one who is serious about studying the Bible and learning from the text itself what it has to say, not someone else's ideas. "Scripture interprets Scripture" and it does. Go forth and conquer/dig in deeply.

This is the 3rd Inductive Study Bible I've purchased. The other two are in ESV and leather covers, one was given to my daughter as a gift, our churches use the ESV. This NASB version is for a particular Precept to Precept study. The hardback version is better suited to support an upright position with other study helps without sliding. The Inductive method is wonderful for delving deep into God's word to find the treasure therein. Wish I had known about it many years ago.

I had not heard of this type of study before and am completely sold on it. Marking in the Bible makes repeated words stand out and really gets you thinking about what God is trying to teach you even as you look at the page. The Bible is excellent quality. Not only do I like the side margins on each page for writing notes, but the book cover is soft and rich-looking. It has instructions on inductive study, a timetable, maps, concordance, pictures, charts, other ways of reading and studying the Bible, etc. etc. and is a great tool to use. I anticipate using it for many studies.

The NASB is very close to the original Hebrew. I love the cross-references. Lastly, the Inductive Study Bible has allowed deeper and more fulfilling wisdom from God to penetrate my spirit, soul and body.
