NAS Wide Margin Bible, Bonded leather, Burgundy
Excellent Wide Margin, Cover Lacking
Paper quality excellent, font looks nicer than pictures indicate, runs a little far into the gutter but perfectly readable, margins ample but not huge, print from other side of page almost invisible. Paper color slighty softer than ultra-white.
The binding is the only real detractor, though it's decent at this price, and the text block itself is beyond this price. It's just flimsy bonded leather. If you love this Bible and fill it with notes, have it rebound when the cover wears out. This Bible won't even come close to laying open anywhere in Genesis, at least not without some serious breaking in. I would highly recommend, though.

Thrilled with this purchase. The binding and price might suggest otherwise, but this is actually a high quality Bible.
Okay, I'll get the couple things needing improvement over with. First off, why is this not being offered in a higher quality binding? I can guarantee it would be a best seller. Even run of the mill "genuine leather" would be awesome.
Second, when I first opened the Bible, I was rather worried about the text being sucked into the gutter. I was relieved when over time, the binding (oh yeah, smyth-sewn) loosened up, and the gutter opened wider. No major problem here.
Okay, so wow. I am so glad this is a big Bible. The problem today is that publishers do whatever they can to make a Bible small. The typical trade-offs are thin paper, tiny text, and minimal margins (yes, even on a wide-margin). This Bible made no such transactions. So what I'm reviewing here is a product for which Zondervan decided to drop size concerns in the pursuit of quality. (So make a leather one!)
I own $200 Allan and Cambridge Bibles, and none of them have as good of paper as this. It is thick and opaque. It will prevent most pens - all I have tried, at least - from bleeding through, so write and underline away.
The text is printed bold clear, and even. It's a miracle.
While it is bonded leather, and therefore you can't expect anything wonderful, it does do the job. When it wears out, I will get the Bible rebound in cowhide.
So yes, buy this Bible while it lasts. Get yourself a big Bible case with a handle while you're at it. This will make a great all-around Bible IF you do. There are sixteen pages for notes in the back.
Go ahead and buy this - you won't regret it!

I was looking for a quality wide margin bible for note taking, with readable print, that wasn't too bulky, all without paying $200. To be honest I thought I was asking for too much, that is until I saw this one. It has everything I was looking for and then some. The print is very readable, quality is great, love the single column verse format, 1.5" margins offer plenty of room for notes. On the first page of each book... there's even room at top of the page for me to write my own book intros. It has a concordance, maps, and a ribbon bookmark. I like the fact that it "doesn't" have any book intros or cross-references, that way I can put in only what I want without being distracted by a bunch of stuff I don't need, or might disagree with. My only complaint.. and this is only preference....is that it's not red-letter, but other than that it's perfect. I love it and look forward to using it for years to come. Highly Recommend This Product!!!!

bought this as a gift
This was bought as a gift and they loved it!! They really enjoy the fact it is not a double column book - but just one with enough margins to add notes! It really compares to all of Zondervan's quality!
