Naomi has begun to believe that she isnt meant to find love, but she might receive more than she has ever hoped for this Christmas.
Twenty-four-year-old Naomi King has all but given up on marriage and children. As Christmas approaches, Naomi is certain that her life will be spent as an old maid, helping with the familys quilting business and taking care of her eight siblings. Then she meets Caleb, a young widower with a 7-year-old daughter, and her world is once again turned upside-down.

tumcsecTuscaloosa, ALAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful Christmas RomanceNovember 29, 2015tumcsecTuscaloosa, ALAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5One of my favorite genres to read is Amish and a Christmas Amish story is icing on the cake. Naomi King is approaching age 24, almost considered an old maid by Amish standards. She has tried two times to find her life mate only to have her heart broken both times. She has decided that God intends for her to stay single and help her Mamm take care of her seven brothers and sisters.
Caleb has a seven year old daughter, Susie, and lost his wife, Barbara two years ago in an accident. He has lived in Ohio close to his wife's family but decides to come back home to Pennsylvania with Susie to visit for Christmas.
As they are arriving in town Susie wants to visit the farmer's market and buy a pie to take to her aunt. Susie wanders off to look at some quilts that Naomi and her friend are selling. Caleb panics when he turns around and can't find Susie. She is making fast friends with Naomi and tells her she wants to learn how to quilt. When he finds Susie he reminds her not to wander off and scare him. Naomi is touched by his love and concern for his daughter and he sees a spark in her eyes.
Are they "ships that pass in the night" or will they see each other again? Not if Caleb's sister Sadie has any say in it. She has already picked out a wife and mother for Caleb and Susie.
I enjoyed the chance to get to know these characters and their community in this Christmas season. The author was able to describe the scenes very well. I could almost hear the gentle snowflakes falling and the crunch of snow under their shoes. Even "taste" the flakes on my tongue and feel the cold on my eyelashes as I "looked" up into the heavens. The simple lifestyles of these Amish, their worship services and gift exchanges are all something that each of us could learn from.
This is the perfect novella to read to get your hearts and minds ready for the season of Christ's birth.

This special novella focuses on Naomi King.
I didnt really notice her much until she began talking to Luke, bringing him lunch and if she werent Amish, Id say she was flirting with disaster ha!
But she couldnt see that everyone thought she was behaving badly making a spectacle of herself by flirting with Luke in front of the whole church district
No one can say she didnt try her best to convince Luke to court her even when Luke tried to tell her she was wasting her time, she refused to listen even to him!
Eventually, after Luke finally convinces Naomi that her feelings will never be returned and he has feelings for Sarah, Timothy notices her and begins thinking she might just suit him after all.
So she gets involved with Timothy I can tell that Naomi has grown up a bit and she really tries to act properly, but she really gets hurt by Timothy, who still loves Miriam, but thinks its hopeless and convinces himself that he should marry Naomi.
Talk about a mess!
To be fair, Timothy often feels that hes being unkind to not share his true feelings with Naomi, but every time he tries, something stops him. Thankfully, Naomi finally realizes how he feels and she ends the relationship.
So now shes stopped trying altogether! Shes made such a mess, she thinks she will be better off staying at home and helping out with her 8 younger brothers and sisters.
I like Naomi so much more in Naomis Gift and when Caleb and Susie begin to care for her, I cheered!
Now if only Caleb and Susie can convince his sister to stop interfering and convince Naomis mother that their feelings are true!
Amy Clipston does an awesome job of showing how Naomi has grown and matured, especially when Sadie, Irene and Irma treat her poorly. I enjoyed every moment of this novella and cant wait until the next story, hoping to hear what happens to Naomi, as well as the main characters in the story!
If youve been reading this series, Im certain youll enjoy Naomis Gift as much as I have. If you havent read it yet, be sure to get it and dont wait until Christmas to read it!
