I don't know but is anyone else who has done MOH Volume 1 disappointed that Volume 2 does not have the map activities answer keys? I really loved Volume 1 and although it was time consuming to plan and grade, it had everything even though it was scattered. Unfortunately Volume 2 because it doesn't have the map answer keys just makes it that much harder and time consuming to grade. I'm a bit frustrated at the moment as I'm grading the first week's lesson activities and realized there is no map answer key.
This product is so easy to implement and is an all inclusive history book for this time period. My children can all study history together from a biblical perspective and enjoy activities at their own levels or participate in the activities all together after each lesson. We absolutely love it!
We were very happy with MOH vol. 1, and vol. 2 promises more great chronological learning of history from a Christian perspective. If only the pages were perforated! They were both perforated and hole-punched in vol. 1, which was very convenient for adding to a binder, and reproducing maps (since they are used more than once). I'm not even sure how we're going to use the maps in vol. 2. If you buy this book, plan on also buying the CD of reproducibles.
For our family, Mystery of History has been exactly what we needed - an effective, practical, and fun way of learning & teaching history. (We tried several other history curriculums in the past that either lacked in depth or required way too much time out of an already full school day.) Mystery of History ("MOH") has everything you need in ONE book to effectively teach multiple grade levels and children w/different learning styles. It is smart, structured, AND surprisingly do-able. The weekly lesson readings are clear and you have the flexibility to choose how much/many of the 'extras' you want to do - depending on YOUR time schedule. For us, making the time-line board (Wall of Fame) & doing the Memory Cards were well worth it and great learning tools. Don't let the large size of the MOH book scare you - it contains many extras (pre-tests, quizzes, semester exams, activities, suggested reading book lists, geography maps, and answer keys). Really wish we started with MOH sooner - my kids now LOVE history. :0)
