if only...
We were very happy with MOH vol. 1, and vol. 2 promises more great chronological learning of history from a Christian perspective. If only the pages were perforated! They were both perforated and hole-punched in vol. 1, which was very convenient for adding to a binder, and reproducing maps (since they are used more than once). I'm not even sure how we're going to use the maps in vol. 2. If you buy this book, plan on also buying the CD of reproducibles.

Streamlined & Effective Curriculum
For our family, Mystery of History has been exactly what we needed - an effective, practical, and fun way of learning & teaching history. (We tried several other history curriculums in the past that either lacked in depth or required way too much time out of an already full school day.) Mystery of History ("MOH") has everything you need in ONE book to effectively teach multiple grade levels and children w/different learning styles. It is smart, structured, AND surprisingly do-able. The weekly lesson readings are clear and you have the flexibility to choose how much/many of the 'extras' you want to do - depending on YOUR time schedule. For us, making the time-line board (Wall of Fame) & doing the Memory Cards were well worth it and great learning tools. Don't let the large size of the MOH book scare you - it contains many extras (pre-tests, quizzes, semester exams, activities, suggested reading book lists, geography maps, and answer keys). Really wish we started with MOH sooner - my kids now LOVE history. :0)

Fun activities to reinforce what you learn!
This book is great for home schooled family's. This is my favorite book to teach out of because everything I need for the lesson is all in one book and everything we need to get for the book is clearly understood. The book is written so that everything is broken down for the child to understand too. If you need a History book to guide you through the bible, while incorporating the world history, this is the book for you to tie it all in together.
