Author/Artist Review

Tell us a little about yourself.  Homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother. Love to read, enjoy writing, think that friends and family are rich and wonderful blessings.

What was your motivation behind this project?   After reading novels about our ranching lifestyle that made me cringe, I wanted to share what actually happens on farms and ranches in my community. I also wanted to portray the love God has for His children and how He weaves our lives with multicolored threads to form rich and varied tapestries.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope folks will gain an understanding of the lifestyle and mentality of farmers and ranchers. But more importantly, I hope it will touch the hearts of those who have had hard times in their lives, and grant them the knowledge that God really is in control.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  I was totally caught up in the characters that were unfolding as each chapter progressed. They each became important to me, and Dexter almost invented himself.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I so enjoy Agatha Christie novels. But also I'm intrigued with Victoria Holt. I like the fact that there is a lot of action in their books, and they move right along.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  My community has been wonderfully supportive of My Lady. They have given me a thumbs up for accuracy and for portraying realistic characters and situations. I appreciate that. I have enjoyed their letters and phone calls and comments more than they will ever know.
