Sherrie Ott5 Stars Out Of 5October 3, 2008Sherrie OttI really like that it is very simple to understand, it is centered around God and uses every opportunity to point to Biblical principles by having the student refer to Scripture. It is also great that my son can learn to play a real christian song rather quickly. My 9 year old son can't get lessons for a few months so he is teaching himself. He can already play "God is So Good" and "Jesus Loves Me" after only a few weeks, which is very motivating for him to continue learning.
Denise Felice4 Stars Out Of 5May 27, 2008Denise FeliceThis is a great teaching book. It's very kid-friendly and easy to teach from even if you don't know how to play piano yourself. I love that it includes the spriritual essentials, as well. The only thing I would have loved was more instruction on what books to buy & how to use them. I bought the lesson & theory boook and was a little confused about how to structure the lessons.
Nanci5 Stars Out Of 5February 11, 2008NanciThese piano books are wonderful! My 7th grade daughter took piano lessons in the 1st grade but hasn't played since. They are very easy to understand and she is playing beautifully. The level one books are for young children so she got through them quickly and is starting the level 2. The Christian aspect makes them a complete 5 star!
Russell Rousset5 Stars Out Of 5August 28, 2007Russell RoussetMy son was so excited to start piano lessons. He was glad to be able to play Jesus Loves Me right away and was really encouraged to keep going. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for a tool to teach piano. Very impressed!!!
Tuan Tran5 Stars Out Of 5July 16, 2007Tuan TranThe only piano method for Christian children I can find after extensive searching. It is wonderful! It's being used to teach my 5 year-old the piano, through a Godly perspective.
Q: Does this music curriclum work with keyboard?
Yes, this curriculum is design for piano/keyboard instruments.
Q: How many copies? We are planning to use this 5 book program with two of our children. Do we need to purchase 2 copies of every book?
You would only need to purchase multiple copies of the Lesson, Theory, and Creativity books, since students must write in them.
Q: Which of the five books are necessary? I am confused about which of the five books in Level 1 are necessary, and which are optional. In particular, the descriptions for the Lesson book and the Theory/Technique book sound fairly similar. The Lesson book description did not include a picture of the table of contents page, so it is hard for me to compare, sight unseen. Does each book include topics that the other does not, or is there a considerable amount of overlap?
You should use at least the Lesson Book (WW396380) and the Theory and Technique Book (WW397387) together. These would go hand-in-hand in teaching the concepts and having your student practice what they are learning. All other books are stand alone and focus on specific concepts for the music in that particular book.
