i think this book is all about me. it helped me face some isues about my clutter and see my stuff as stuff and let go of my security blankets. love this book. helped more than any other book i've ever read, and i've read alot.
Easy reading with practical tips on how to reduce clutter in our homes and in our hearts. I can't say that my home is any neater (yet), but I have looked at my possessions through different eyes and have been happily tossing things out and giving away our excess stuff!
My husband and I have had a wonderfully chaotic beginning to marriage. He sold "everything" and brought what mattered to me - 4000 miles away and then we combined stuff. Then we decided we'd picked the wrong place and took the combination of stuff, minus a few odds and ends, back the 4000 miles. Then we combined households with family and the clutter has grown. This book has helped me to recognize what is special and what is mess. I recommend it to everyone. Not only will you learn to unclutter your house, but your heart as well.
Life is full of chaos and clutter, especially life with kids. But if we allow that clutter to invade our homes and our hearts we can lose ourselves in the process. Kathryn Porter tackles a difficult issue many face today either in their own homes or in the homes of family or friends they love in her latest book Too Much Stuff - De-Cluttering Your Heart and Home (Beacon Hill Press). Too Much Stuff not only describes what clutter is, but also the ultimate cost of clutter, and gives readers a how-to manual to de-clutter their lives. It's a MUST read for every busy mom who has a paper pile on her kitchen desk, a junk drawer full of, well....junk; clean laundry piling up in the family room and too much stuff to fit in her attic. Its the kind of book you will read over again and refer to when you need a reminder of how to fit life's chaos into 24 hours each day and still remember to snuggle with your toddler on the couch. It's the kind of book that will touch your heart and impact you for a lifetime if you are willing to take on the task of de-cluttering your life and your heart. And it's the kind of book you will pass on to a friend who is just like you. A mom looking for help in the midst of life's chaos with kids. I know you will find help in beating the clutter bug in Too Much Stuff by Kathryn Porter, and I pray you will discover the joy within.Find our more about how to de-clutter your heart and home at Kathryn's website, http://www.clutterwise.com
This book changed my life! After over 9 years of praying for help in getting more organized, I found Too Much Stuff. Not only does Kathryn Porter address the physical problem of disorganization and hoarding but she also addresses the spiritual side of it. I have had fun getting rid of stuff and feeling empowered by less distractions due to a messy house. I can't recommend this book enough.
