A blind date brings new excitement into her otherwise dull routine, and the handsome young widower becomes her close friend. Could it ever be more than friendship, since he holds his dead wife on a pedestal? Would his guilt prevent their relationship from reaching the next level? Or will Dave return to win back her heart?

Tell us a little about yourself. First of all, my heart belongs to Jesus. My husband of 40 years, our five adult children, their spouses and our eight grandkids squeeze into my heart, expanding it daily. I've been writing in earnest for over ten years. Never had time before! Jim and I owned a country inn in the Pocono Mountains of PA for eleven years and I met so many interesting people. Some of them appear, though disguised, in my novels. While at the inn, I sold a lot of my original oil paintings and used my ability to play the piano to accompany my guests in sing-alongs. I also cooked, ran art workshops and cleaned rooms - when need be. I enjoy my new writing life and use my fiction to drop seeds of faith and words of encouragement.
What was your motivation behind this project? In my early 30's I found myself in an unwanted divorce. I had four young children, but my husband, a professional man, left me for another woman. I wanted to share the story with others and show that life is not over when you find yourself propelled into something as devastating as divorce.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope they will see that life is not over, just because there has been a failure in your life. By resting in the Lord, I found fulfillment. He was with me every step of the way, whether I was aware of His presence or not. Through our trials we find deeper meaning to our lives. Romans 5 was a great comfort, then and now.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? I found myself re-living certain moments as I wrote of Laura's struggles, though she is not me in every sense. Writers combine their own experiences with other people's they have known. Of course, our imaginations are quickened by everything we read and see, so by the time we write, a "new" person emerges. That is the fun of writing fiction.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? The Bible is my main source of inspiration, but I've been influenced by many Godly men and women I've known over my lifetime. Teachers, relatives, friends. Until I began writing fiction myself, I read only non-fiction. I admire C. S. Lewis, Chuck Colson, Dr. James Kennedy, and Lloyd Ogilvie, to mention a few. Artists? I like the French Impressionists and the Chadds Ford artists like the Wyeths.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: I guess the one thing that is on my heart is this. Never give up on your faith. No matter what we will face in this life, we have a God who is bigger. He will never leave us nor forsake us. So whatever our trials, He will see us through.
