Overview

At key periods in Virginia Stem Owens s life, she has found the writings of Soren Kierkegaard to be of great encouragement and challenge. She finds the 19th-century Dane a needed voice today in stripping away the veneer of false security we so carefully protect.

In this study, we will zero in on the issue of true faith and challenge the adequacy of mere resignation toward God s dealings in our lives. While resignation can produce quiet acceptance, Owens believes that only faith can bring joy.
