3 Stars Out Of 5
October 14, 2012
The story is okay, but not what I expected--and the reason for only a three out of five rating. I expected this book to be more about the mother's wish, but it's more about the child's search. Would be good for troubled or restless teens who think the unknown is arbitrarily better than what they've got. Maybe for parents of those teens too. I would only recommend for these groups.
I just did not enjoy this book. It was an easy read, but I'm not sure what the point was supposed to be. I like to feel something, good or sad, after reading a book. With this book I didn't feel anything except that I wasted my time. I know this sounds harsh, and I apologize for that.
I sat down and read this book in a really short bite. It was full of rich images and giggle bits. I was surprised at the end of the tale to be so touched that I found myself tearing up and smiling. I loved the exaggerations that gave ultimate emotional punch to Ellee's story. I think this would be an excellent gift for any mother/daughter but even more so for those that have had a rift.http://Godusesbrokenvessels.blogspot.com
