Product Description

Sisters Anna and Elizabeth Botkin have had quite enough of the feminist movement in the west today. Sounding a call not only for women to be keepers at home once married, they elaborate upon the intricacies of the father-daughter bond, and the need for a biblically defined relationship. Perhaps the most influential time in a girl's life, a daughter has the ideal situation to train for her future role as a helpmeet while still serving her father's vision at home. Writing for all the young girls today who are struggling against an overwhelmingly critical culture, the sisters provide encouragement to continue in the paths of godly daughterhood and biblical womanhood. 352 pages, hardcover with dust jacket.

Andreola Review

Many will think this book is a little “over the top.” Perhaps it is. I like it anyway. When it comes to daughters understanding how they can “rise above their God-hating culture and change it for the better,” this book points the way with boldness. Its refreshingly straightforward opinions are based on biblical ideals.

The authors admit that this isn’t the typical Christian survival guide on “how to be swept into a horrendously perverse culture while still hanging on to the teeny little shred of purity that the world allows you to have.” Rather, it makes more bold comparisons of our present culture’s opinions with that of the Bible.

Dean and I had to sift out worldly philosophy when it came to decisions concerning our own daughters. Once they became young women, new questions arose. This book addresses the nitty-gritty issues of being a girl who honors her parents, is protected by her father, ministers to others, and is allowed to long for and anticipate being a wife, a mother, a homemaker—a woman who ministers within her family. Along with the Botkin sisters, 14 other girls share their personal transitions from worldly thinking to a biblically inspired womanhood.

Some examples of the questions raised and answered: How do I love and honor my father and learn the principles of being a helpmate? Have there ever been any women who found complete “liberation” from men? What are the different roles God gave to men and women? I would love to get married and have children but isn’t it wrong to think about it too much? How can I make courtship a possibility for my life when it is such a new concept to me? In what ways can a woman be strong without being masculine? How should a godly “protected” woman dress? Where did the “outside the home” careerism concept come from? How does being in our homes count as ministry? What about going away to college? 352 pages, hardcover from Vision Forum.

This is an excellent, well needed book. It details the dangers of the anti-Scriptural feminism that is rampant in the Church. The Botkin daughters express themselves within the confines of being faithful to the Scriptures and orthodox faith. @Reviewed by Barbara Cripe - this is an amazingly prejudiced review, the authors do not play loose with the Scriptures. Some examples may help for that sort of comment.

Excellent book! Opened my eyes to the influence of the culture in my own life. Everyone needs to read this book. God is raising up a generation of people who "get it".

This book is incredible! It is refreshing, inspiring, and challenging. It has given me a new understanding of my role as as woman and a vision for what God can do through me, and how he can use me as I serve him in my home. It has also helped to uncover the feminist lies that have saturated our culture, many of which I have believed. I am reading it through a second time with my Dad and he too is enjoying it immensely. I recommend this book to any young lady desiring to grow closer to her father and discover God's purpose for her as a woman.

This book is such a blessing, even for an older mom of 2. These young girls did a wonderful job of showing God's heart for all women.

Incredible! I bought this for my 15-year old daughter, but I surely dug into this myself. They go into detail about God's plan for women, and the world's plan. Some Christian families might be offended, yet it's because "we" have been taught to think a completely different way, not with a Biblical world's view way. This is not your average "teenage" book. It's full of so much truth. This book has had a huge impact on our family and the direction we're now going is a complete 180 turn around since reading So Much More, Raising Maidens of Virtue, and a sum of other Vision Forum material.

I do not recommend this book. The authors, though articulate, argue by assertion, play fast and loose with scripture and draw conclusions that are not scriptural. This book was written by young women who, while intelligent do not have the benefit of wisdom. The descriptions of the role of a daughter are mainly drawn from scriptures directed to wives. The use of them to prescribe the father-daughter relationship is wrong. Furthermore, the authors' use of scripture to portray the father-daughter relationship is selective. I would caution anyone seeking to read this book, and not recommend it to any young, impressionable girls.

This book rocked my world and opened my eyes to deep wisdom; to spiritual truths I could sense, but not fully understand. I've been a bible teacher, discipler of youth, and good steward of God's Word for over 10 years, and yet through this book, these young women have discipled ME! They have more wisdom in their right arm than I have in my whole body! You can tell how competantly their father and mother discipled them in truth- both biblical and historical! I was raised to be a seductress femenist matriarch by a seductress feminist matriarch; totally submerged in the secular humanist culture and choked by it. I am the first Christian in my family, and this book helped to undo much thought damage in my life, and soften my heart towards the difficult passages regarding women in God's Word. It is radical, yes, but do not forget that friendship with the World is ENMITY with God! Many people will balk at the wisdom in this book because "the wisdom of God is foolishness to those who are perishing." Even Christians are perishing in this current perverse culture unbeknownst to them. They are fully sumbmerged in feminism, government education, worldly desires for things, etc. If you ARE lost in those things, yet things seem not to be going well- you don't have peace, you're overwhelmed and frustrated, you have a disconnect in your marriage or in your relationship with your father, and you truly have a humble heart and ears to hear (genuine intentions to want to know the Lord and His higher ways)- this book could help you see why. What lies have affected you and thus your choices. It could be called, in a sense, and expose on Satan's tactics to undermine God's will for His creation. LOVE IT! Anna Sofia and Elizabeth, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this book. You are very courageous and gifted women. I praise our Father for you!

After really reading this book all the way through I have had a complete change of heart. Although I didn't agree with everything in the book, I do agree with most of the issues put forth. Thank you Botkin sisters for showing me a change of heart.
