Series: Tucker Mills Trilogy
This first book in the Tucker
Mills Trilogy from beloved author Lori Wick follows Jace
Randall as he leaves his childhood home to help his Uncle Woody Randall run the
saw mill in Token Creek. Jace diligently focuses on
work until he meets the visiting niece of local storekeepers. Jace pursues her until she finally agrees to attend a
picnic with him and take a chance.
But before the relationship has a strong foundation, the
couple separates because of gossip fueled by Jace's
sister. Later, when she admits her wrongdoing and shares her testimony of a new
faith, the couple must decide whether to try again. Will the sister's example
of faith and transformation be enough to restore broken dreams?

I also, don't like the constant mention of alcohol use, and drinking, but I realize that the main characters weren't Christians even thought they went to a so-called "church". so no wonder they drank! nevertheless, I was glad that jace got rid of all his alcohol, and they started to seek the Lord. Christians don't drink!
lindaStarkville, MSAge: 55-65Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5disappointedOctober 4, 2014lindaStarkville, MSAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2I had 2 main areas of disappointment with this book. The first was the number of characters-most of whom were introduced in a short period of time. I had difficulty keeping up with which one was which.
The second area was the ending. It's unfair to the reader to leave a story hanging. Often, other books in a series cost more, and the reader might not be able to afford them in order to find out what happened. Then, I imagine that the 2nd book will leave you hanging for the 3rd.

The faith the characters display always encourages me in a life where things were much simpler.
