5 Stars Out Of 5
Great practice for learning about coins
March 17, 2011
Our family has played this game many times. The children (ages 4 and 5) really enjoy it and ask to play it. We use it to reinforce identifying coins by their names and values, to practice counting by tens and fives, to experience changing out coins for other coins (5 pennies for a nickel etc.), to learn how $1 can be made by numerous coin combinations, and to reinforce adding skills. We give assistance as needed to each child and they have grown more independent on their turn each time we play. The coins are pretty realistic, definitely quality enough to easily make the connection to the real coins they represent. The board and "men" are sturdy, bright and well made. The game is much more durable than many others we have played. This has been an excellent teaching tool for us.
