Publisher's Description

What is the right way to mother? Can a mom trust her intuition? Or should she follow the advice of one of many parenting books? Into this fog of theory and philosophy, MomSense shines a light of refreshing clarity. Through personal stories from real moms and proven, practical advice, MomSense helps moms honestly assess their skills, embrace their mothering instincts, and develop their own unique mothering style. Rather than pushing one "right" way to be a mom, this liberating book shows moms that they are the best mom for their kids and that they can have contentment, joy, and confidence in their role. A perfect gift for a new or experienced mom, MomSense is also an excellent resource for women's small groups and MOPS groups.

After a dose of MomSense you can't help but be encouraged to be the kind of mom God designed you to be."

Any mom who wants her parenting to make a difference should grab a copy."

Empowering A Woman to Be the Best Mom She Can Be!
Mom intuition is something a woman brings to her mothering, something that is often not really learned, just known - an inkling, a sixth sense, or a gut feeling. Common sense is using good sense and sound judgment in practical matters. Mash them together and you have MomSense.

Life can be overwhelming but when children become part of the picture, a mom may feel that her life is out of control. In MomSense, author Jean Blackmer guides new and experienced moms through the plethora of advice that is available today. MomSense illustrates that moms do not need to seek perfection but finding their own unique mothering style is what really counts with their kids today. Readers will discover that they already possess the instincts and the ability to think critically to be confident moms and to raise confident kids

Blackmer showcases "real mom" stories that are proven and practical advice for moms. MomSense provides clarity and helps moms honestly assess their skills, embrace those instincts, and develop their own unique mothering style. This practical and hope-filled book equips moms to mother with confidence, contentment and joy. Each chapter provides thought-provoking "MomSense" questions and a section of "Mama Drama" scenarios for moms to discuss in groups making this an excellent resource for study groups.

I used this book in a moms club with 15 members. This book teaches mothering skills on the very "top surface" meaning it touches situations and issues that are very neutral and easy to discuss in a group. After the study members said that they took nothing new from the book.

I'm in the process of reading it now, not to far into it. So far it is great! It had me laughing out loud in the beginning. Hoping it will give me a different perspective on my daily job of motherhood.

This is a great book for a newer mom! Jean Blackmer's stories are liberating rather than guilt inducing and her tone is that of a fellow mom-in-the-trenches. Love it!

I was very disappointed by this book, since it has absolutely no useful information.I'm a mother of 3 and I think that everything stated is just plain common sense. Maybe useful if you're hitting the bottom of your self esteem, and need some basic reassurance, but if not, move along to sth more interesting.
