This book is a truly inspiring read. . My favorite thing about this book is how he used scripture throughout the whole work. In my life personally I get disappointed when "Christian" books only mention or quote scripture in only a few places. Mr. Van Natta communicates his personal struggles in a manner that allows the reader to connect and relate. It's clearly pictured here that he is a real person, with real struggles; there is no "I'm a Christian so obviously my life is perfect" aspect of this book, as found in so many other religious reads these days. Even though we as Christians love to say that salvation will wipe your slate clean, we don't always act like that's true. No matter how many times we ask for forgiveness, or for God to allow us to forget something tragic in our lives, we still carry a light shadow of that burden. This book has changed my perspective of those remaining shadows in my own life. I now look for God to show up at those times when I'm most vulnerable. And those times when I'm experiencing those traumas
In conclusion, I finished this book feeling inspired to expect big things from God, even in my own hardships.
