I use this together with Singapore. They compliment eachother nicely. I works really well for my son, who is a spatial learner.

We absolutely love this book. My son loves the rods that you use with it. It really makes you think, and I know it will be good for him the whole way through. He thinks it is a "fun" book and so does a friend of his. I highly recommend it!

Miquon materials are excellent. My K can use this book without much help. Their activities build number sense and mental math. The teachers guide-lab annotations- is helpful for some of the unique ways that they present materials, for example the clock lessons are taught without numbers at first, using the fractions of half past and quarter to and after.
