My very "mathy" nine-year-old son has loved every Miquon. My younger seven-year-old son, who would rather draw (we love the boxes where he needs to draw the items in!) really benefits from the hands on approach with rods and manipulatives. I feel my children who go all the way through the series will be very well prepared for math in the later elementary years. I tried Miquon with our oldest (now 13) when we started schooling in first grade. It was a struggle, not so much because of Miquon, but because I was not teaching to her learning styles. I wish I had stuck with it, I truly think she would be doing better today if I had.
