On a Wednesday morning in 1989 Pastor Don Piper died in a head-on collision, awaking in Heaven where he experienced the glories he had long preached about. Ninety minutes later, prayer brought him back to life, and the next time he awoke it was to a world of unimaginable pain, depression and anger. This is the story of Piper's healing and his journey to finding the answer to his most agonizing question: Why had God let him live?

This is a book that you can't put down, nor do you want it to ever end. I encourage non believer's and believers to read. I'm praying a movie will be produced.

People really want to believe in Heaven. That so many people would find this book more comforting than what Jesus and the Scriptures have to say about the subject is mystifying. The Bible is very clear that we are not going to know what Heaven is like until we are there. I am very skeptical that, 2000 years later, God changed his mind and wanted the author to write a postscript to the Bible explaining what heaven is really like. Rely on the Scriptures for your information on this subject (and Hell for that matter) -- that is the only authorized source.

I was on the bridge with Don; I know the miraculous answered prayer that he live, and have no internal injuries. He is a Godly man who edifies the truth of God and scripture.

I just finished reading this story-read the whole book cover to cover tonight. I found it to be very inspiring; not only for his description of heaven, but, also his account of his recovery. There are no frills or embellishments here-just a simple telling of the events. Also, the description of heaven is thoughtful and without fanfare. Don't we often ask God why we're alive, and what our purpose is? This account reinforces how we live our life is most important. To the glory of God.

2 Tim 4:3-4 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears ; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Matt 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves .
Blasphemous and sacreligeous. Do not subject yourselves to things dreamt up by a man in a coma induced state. We are instructed by the bible to test the spirits to see if they be of God. I encourage you strongly to do this concerning... Read More this book. I strongly believe this book to be no better than the story of a witch and what led them to wicca. Always seek truth only from the Word of God.

I really wish there was more to his description of heaven; but I appreciated his very frank explanations of his physical and emotional struggles afterwards that have helped so many. I am sure that compared with the joys of heaven, what we have to go through here on earth is more than reasonable.

Tell us a little about yourself. I'm an army brat by birth.
I have a degree in Broadcasting and spent 14
years on Radio and TV.
I've been in the full-time ministry for 19 years.
I am terminally in love with the game of
baseball!
What was your motivation behind this project? Self-defense!
I've lived the last 15 years of my life
frustrating people I have met because I could
never spend enough time with them explaining my
encounter with Heaven. Everyone always wanted to
know MORE than I had time to share. "90 Minutes
In Heaven: A True Story of Life and Death"
answers those questions.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Very simple:
1. To know Heaven is real and you can go there.
2. That those who knew Christ and preceeded us
will be waiting at the gate.
3. That God still works miracles.
4. That there are some things that happen in
this life which permanently change us. And, we
must embrace that change by discovering a "new
normal."
5. Tragic circumstances and great pain can give
way to amazing ministry opportunities!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I read all kinds of materials. I love humor, op-
ed pieces, riveting stories, and nostalgia. My
favorite subjects are fascinating people,
Americana, and the Glory of Christ. I enjoy
reading everything from Yancey to Lucado to
Spurgeon.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Yes, Heaven is utterly real and absolutely
breathtaking.
God is still in the business of miracles.
God wants us to ceaselessly share our faith in
word and deed.
