One of the most popular introductions to Christian faith ever written, Mere Christianity has sold millions of copies worldwide. The book brings together C. S. Lewis's legendary broadcast talks of the war years, talks in which he set out simply to "explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times." Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity's many de-nominations, Lewis provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith. It is a collection of scintillating brilliance that remains strikingly fresh for the modern reader and at the same time confirms C. S. Lewis's reputation as one of the leading writers and thinkers of our age.
Clive Staples Lewis (1898-1963) was one of the intellectual giants of the twentieth century and arguably one of the most influential writers of his day. He was a Fellow and Tutor in English Literature at Oxford University until 1954, when he was unanimously elected to the Chair of Medieval and Renaissance Literature at Cambridge University, a position he held until his retirement. He wrote more than thirty books, allowing him to reach a vast audience, and his works continue to attract thousands of new readers every year. His most distinguished and popular accomplishments include Out of the Silent Planet, The Great Divorce, The Screwtape Letters, and the universally acknowledged classics The Chronicles of Narnia. To date, the Narnia books have sold over 100 million copies and have been transformed into three major motion pictures.
“C. S. Lewis understood, like few in the past century, just how deeply faith is both imaginative and rational.”
Lori Chyko5 Stars Out Of 5Mere ChristianityDecember 26, 2014Lori ChykoQuality: 3Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I had loaned out my copy of Mere Christianity, and never got it back! So, ordered a few more copies. This time when I feel the nudge to pass the book on to someone, I'll still have my backup! It's a good resource to help us in this walk of righteousness. (My other copy was made of higher quality product though. These aren't the best made.) Still a good book. Thanks!

Good for content onlyDecember 10, 2013LarryLyndenAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 3Value: 4The outside page edges were rough, not sheared to make them even. The book, as supplied, looked like the edge of a stack of newspapers. Detective thrillers do better than this.

Through Mere Christianity God answered some questions I have had since my early twenties. As far as apologetist goes, Lewis is tops.
