This program WILL improve your child's writing!

I can not wait to begin this curriculum! My children and I used the Ancient History-based Writing Lessons last year at the recommendation of a veteran homeschooler. I quickly realized that the IEW system works! I saw a drastic improvement in my children's writing.

Yes, teachers and students could definitely benefit from Pudewa's seminar set before embarqing on these lessons. However, any parent with a firm grip on grammar can easily make use of these tools independent from the the seminar. That is exactly what I did!

Now that I am SOLD that the program really works, I am going to purchase the seminar set from IEW. I saw Mr. Pudewa in person at a homeschool conference and I am sure I won't be dissapointed with my investment! He is an very intelligent and articulate speaker.

I did not realize that IEW requires you to attend a lengthy seminar or purchase an expensive synopsis in order to use their work properly. This should be made clear to all purchasers in your reviews. It also requires you to print out additional workbook pages at home.

I returned the teacher's manual because it offered minimal help. I kept the student book and will modify it to meet my family's homeschool needs. I can see the value of this program as it makes the student think about their word usage, but the packaging needs work.

What you'd expect from IEW... good, quality materials and content. This program is a well-thought out, and logical approach to the structure of writing. The method makes the whole concept of writing well more concrete.
