Meant to Be

"Meant to Be" is billed as a "right to life parable". For that reason we got it, but we were disappointed in the basic premise of the story. In the final couple of minutes the plot tries to explain the circumstances of the first hour and a half... and that's when we realized we'd been "had". The pro-life efforts of Bradley Dorsey's "mother" make for a good story, but they are subjugated to a plot centered on a bad teaching (I hate to be a spoiler) that an aborted child grows and lives a normal life span in some parallel dimension and only THEN goes to be with God. Can you say "Marley's Ghost in Dicken's Christmas Carol"?
I believe this film could be saved by recutting it to eliminate Della Reese, Bradley Dorsey, and Kristen Renton's characters altogether. But this is a Bradley Dorsey production, so that isn't going to happen. I've read some background on Bradley and I admire his credentials, but this one serious theological error in the story makes me keep from recommending it.
