Immerito5 Stars Out Of 5Excellent Edition to Your Financial LibraryJuly 31, 2012ImmeritoQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Ron Blue takes a different approach to finances, in some cases, than Dave Ramsey, as I'll explain briefly below.
Chuck Swindoll wrote the book's foreword.
Ron Blue quickly gets us to the biblical principles of his money management system. (God owns it all, We are in a growth process, the amount is not important and faith requires action).
The book starts with the basics: determining the reader's current financial status and helping the reading to determine goals and the steps needed to realize those goals.
Unlike Dave Ramsey, Blue believes that debt should be minimized and evaluated before one should consider taking it on, while Ramsey advocates *not* getting into debt (with the lone exception of a home mortgage) and renouncing any intention of entering into debt OR gaining further debt (if one discovers his writings after one has debt). His perspective on whole life insurance vs. term life insurance also differs from Ramsey's.
The book contains multiple charts and tables to help the reader.
Recommended for anyone's financial library, especially people new to the basics of personal finance.
San Chang5 Stars Out Of 5March 28, 2007San ChangEverybody needs to read this book! Why isn't this book on the best seller's list I do not know. It is fantastic. After you read it you'll want to share this with everybody. Some of it does get slightly dense but it's all understandable for me. He builds upon Biblical principles, and that is what got my attention and earned my respect. In my opinion this book is useful for people in all walks of life.
