This book is just plain stupid. The characters are dumb and unbelievable. The story lines are incredulous. The author tries to add drama, but instead adds ridiculous and laughable situations. Women "tripping" all time and "falling into his arms"? Wow.
And puppies!? Come on! There are too many unwanted animals in the world. Authors should be promoting spaying and neutering your pets, NOT irresponsibly leaving them outside to have litter after litter of more unwanted pets.
And whaling!? Come on! Why in the world would you promote cutting off fins to let the animals suffer a terrible, slow, painful death by either drowning or bleeding? No, they may not have done that back in the 1800s, but they sure do it now.
And "Christians" HATING God, as Adam did. No! You absolutely cannot live your life hating and cursing God and be a Christian. If you would actually use your brain and thought about it, you would realize that it makes no sense. When you are saved, you are new; you are reborn; born of GOD'S OWN SEED. Besides hating God, he hated everyone around him who wasn't "like himself." And he blamed people for things they had absolutely nothing to do with, no control over, or even any knowledge of. Then he wouldn't forgive them. Adam was not a Christian until he sincerely repented more than half-way through the "Adam's Bride." And Adam wasn't the only questionable "Christian." Yes, only God knows the heart, but we will know them by their fruit, plain and simple.
And since when is it OK for Christians to withhold evidence from police and not want to see justice done? Adam's family didn't care if the killer was brought to justice?? Really? Yes, he will stand before his Maker and Judge when he dies. But we have an obligation to pursue justice while here on earth. Adam was totally in the right to go to the police with the guy's last name and whatever other evidence he had. It's much better than attempting to pass out justice on our own.
Most of you will think this review very critical, and that doesn't surprise me, nor do I care. I am sick and tired of these "Christian" books presenting a false salvation, a false gospel, false doctrines, misinterpreted passages for the author's own benefit (or whatever other reason there is), or just plain cruel or irresponsible behavior. And I've decided to stand against it.
I enjoyed reading this book so much, at my age we don't need all that nasty writings. It was so enjoyable to read a christian based love store about what our glories Father in heaven does for us when we listen.
All 3 stories were enjoyable reading that it was hard to put the book down. Michaela's first paragraph was so good that I knew it was going to be great and I went into her story with great depth and emotion.
