Marriage Retreat, Special Edition DVD
Amusing comedy with great message
This movie has some very funny moments and some very insightful observations about marriage. Three couples with three different problems decide to go on a marriage retreat for selfish reasons and get more than they bargained for in the form of Jeff Fahey (amusing as the jaded, but dedicated Christian counselor) and Victoria Jackson (his submissive, supportive wife; who has some very great insights in her simple words). Parenthood, addictions, and obsessive behavior are all tackled, but with an emphasis on Jesus Christ and the Ephesians 5:22-33 view of marraige. My wife and I enjoyed this movie alot and laughed quite a bit, but were slightly disappointed at the ending, which seemed incomplete. Despite this, if you want an amusing look at three couples discovering Jesus Christ in their broken marriages, you will enjoy this movie.

good comedy with commentary on relationships
Good comedy, but makes alot of great points about relationship, in general. Jeff Fahey and Victoria Jackson are a great contrast as the marriage counselors who really care, he as the serious guy and her as the carefree personality. Brad Stine puts in a genius minirole that is at the same time humorous, but with depth of reality that makes you really like his character. Good acting, production, music. Lost a star because it's hard to believe all of the outcome, but I don't think the makers were aiming for reality, just humor and life commentary. The humor makes a tough subject easier to contemplate. I love Pureflix. Another good job. : )
