This movie was great. We watched it as a family and we all very much enjoyed it. The Forgotten Christmas is very kid friendly and has Christian values in full view. When Mandie has difficult problems she prays to God, as do other characters. Themes include the value of friendship, compassion, perseverance, tolerance and the importance of family. The movie is post Civil War and takes place in 1900. It especially appeals to children ages 6-13. My boys love it, but I would think this would especially appeal to girls. I highly recommend this movie any time of year, but particularly at Christmas.
We loved the first two Mandie movies and were not disappointed with this one either. I liked how, even though Mandie didn't always agree with her elders decisions, she either obeyed, or found a christian way to change it.
